Crimson Fields
An unfinished, abandoned world
Crimson Fields was my first MUD project started back in 1997. Since that time there have been many nights of tweaking and coding.
Despite all of the work put into the game, there were many problems from the outset. The chosen theme does not appear to be a
popular one, as player counts are nearly always low. Little to no building help has been the norm for the past few years,
and the most recent 20 or so builders did not put any effort into making anything of use.
So, sad it is to say, but this is an abandoned project. I do not wish for it to fade into obscurity, so I have kept it running.
In case of a revival of interest, I have steadily repaired any bugs found and kept it current with the changing development scene.
As such, the game engine is extremely stable, and even with occasional "bad" users attempting to crash the game, there have been
very little problems at all, and it typically would run as long as my computer could stay on.
This project has fairly mature code, with many seamless integrations into everyday, standard MUD player tasks.
With a revival of interest, I would whole-heartedly begin serious work on this project again. As things currently stand,
it will simply be left running and any bugs found silently smashed.
